R v S & Others.
7 Oct 2015
Senior Solicitor Peter Finbow successfully represented Mr. S in his acquittal in proceedings before Manchester Crown Court. It had been alleged that Mr. S and his ten co-defendants, who were members of his family, conspired over 15 years to launder the proceeds of crime. These were allegedly gained by our client and others gained through drug importation, drug dealing, and other offences. These proceeds of crime were, according to prosecutors, to have been laundered through the purchase of a substantial property portfolio worth about £1 million. We conducted a vigorous defence as a result of which all of the defendants were acquitted of the charge on day 18 of this very long-running trial.
We instructed Mark Harries of Carmelite Chambers.
