Stephanie Theivendrarajah
Stephanie is a dedicated criminal defence solicitor who combines strong legal knowledge with a practical and strategic approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients. She is committed to providing thorough, robust and client-focused representation, with particular experience in serious and complex Crown Court matters.
Having trained at busy criminal defence firms in North London and Gerrards Cross, Stephanie has developed experience in a broad range of serious criminal cases, including murder, serious drug offences, firearms and other serious and violent offences. She is experienced in preparing cases from the earliest stages of proceedings through to trial and takes a proactive approach to case preparation, ensuring that every available avenue of defence is thoroughly explored.
Stephanie is also Police Station Accredited and regularly represents clients at the police station in relation to a wide range of allegations. Her knowledge of police station procedure and commitment to early intervention enables her to provide effective representation from the outset of a case.
Stephanie was also recently involved in a successful Judicial Review concerning the lawfulness of an order made by a Crown Court Judge affecting her client. Following the successful application, the Judge subsequently recused himself following a further application made on behalf of the client. The case involved complex legal and procedural issues and required detailed preparation alongside Counsel.

- £1 billion cocaine importation – Acting in a complex case involving the alleged importation of cocaine with an estimated value of approximately £1 billion.
- Large-scale cocaine importation – Representing a client charged in connection with the importation of approximately 1,207 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated value of approximately £35.5 million.
- Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug – Stephanie was responsible for preparing the defence case for trial in a matter involving approximately 1kg of a Class A drug, with only five days available for preparation. The client was the only defendant in the trial to be acquitted.
- Concerned in the supply of a Class A drug – Stephanie challenged the prosecution’s evidence as to the classification of the substance, arguing that the prosecution could not establish that the drug allegedly supplied was in fact a Class A controlled drug. Following the challenge to the prosecution’s evidence, the case was dropped.
- Attempted murder – Acting in matters involving allegations of attempted murder, with the prosecution subsequently accepting a reduction of the allegations to Section 20 grievous bodily harm.
- Firearms offences – Representing clients facing serious firearms allegations, including a matter involving conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to contravene the Prison Act by conveying mobile phones into prison. In a separate firearms matter, Stephanie’s preparation of the defence case resulted in the prosecution dropping the case at the commencement of trial.
- Cheating the public revenue – Representing a client charged with cheating the public revenue through the submission of false VAT returns, involving an alleged dishonest gain of approximately £1.45 million.
- Aggravated burglary – Successfully prepared and advanced an application resulting in the prosecution dropping all charges against the client. Following the successful application, the prosecution subsequently discontinued proceedings against all co-defendants.
