We represented the jockey, Darren Williams, in the first ever criminal trial centred on “fixing” horse races. The Old Bailey trial involved some of the most highly-regarded QC’s in the country and the gallery was filled with journalists and pundits from the sporting world on a daily basis. The Defence highlighted the inadequacies in the expert evidence and procedural failures of the City of London Police. The Defence won the application that there was no case to answer at the close of the Prosecution case.
