SFO v Ersin Tatar
Ersin Tatar is a Turkish politician currently serving as the Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus. We represented him in relation to an investigation by the SFO in connection with the Polly Peck case (dating back to 1987 and involving CEO Asil Nadir, who faced 66 counts of theft in the original proceedings and was eventually convicted in 2012).
Following our intervention on Mr Tatar’s behalf, the SFO confirmed (in November 2019) that it was discontinuing proceedings against him on the grounds that it is not now in the public interest to prosecute.
